As the final few days are approaching by, suddenly I’m realizing
that I have tacitly fallen in love with this city, popularly known as “the pink
city”. It’s actually a city with the touch of a town, a complete blend of
culture and metropolitan charm.
Choki Dhani |
It dishes out with fun in all possible dimensions, from the “loose
control” place Nahargarh, whose ambiance allows you to play your adventure
string; to the very “ethnical” choki dhaani, which introduces you with the real Rajasthan, Camel
Rides, folk dances and the delicious Dal Batti Churma, the very specialties of
Rajasthan all packed up in one; to the "natural scenery" of outskirts like
bhangarh, samod, chool giri, etc which bestows you with the nature’s finest
blessing; to the new and very “this and that” TC which presents you with rock music and the
western style bars. But all these exuberances becomes still as the night
approaches by, and the city humbly sleeps, to rise up early, next
morning and host its people with a new enthusiasm.
It is actually the kind of city which do not allow you to
walk alone and hearing to the slangs like “chhora” “chhori” and “raam raam sa”
while walking down the road, further thrills you up.
Bhangarh |
The very regal places like Jal Mahal, Amber Fort, Albert
Hall, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar undoubtedly proves that, it has
remained the abode of Maharajas for a sizeable period of time. The multihued market
places like Bapu Bazar, Jauhari Bazar, Chaura Rasta, etc all filed up with traditional
but fashionable attires, magnetically attracting every lady’s heart to fill up
her wardrobe with them all.
Every festival has its own charm here, people here celebrate
them in their own style, “the Jaipur Style”, whole city is dressed up as a
bride when its diwali; painted with bright colors with a flick of love when its
holi; and kites creating a beautiful collage on the blue sky when its Makar
Sankranti.
This Jaipur Saga can’t go without the mention of the “low
floor buses” the part which I have enjoyed the most being a student for almost
four years. They drive you to every nook and cranny of the city most
economically (the word highly thought about in student life :P) and very
conveniently (the word least thought about being a hosteler :P)
so no one told you that was gonna be this way... |
This city has gifted me with some of the great friends,
friends who define me, who have knowingly or unknowingly contributed in making
me, what I’m today. And it is because of this bunch of exclusive idiots, that
the above mentioned places and moments, have packed up my basket with an assorted clunk of
memories to cherish with and talk about forever.
Strangely it passes out fast when you are having fun and soon it is going to be all packed up and bidding good
byes, with a promise of not losing contact ever, but who can say where the road
goes.
